White Bengal Tiger

Zuri is a female white Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) who was surrendered in 2011 by a breeder who was days away from euthanizing her because of her extreme and costly and seemingly incurable medical issues. When three year old Zuri first arrived at Noahs Ark she was underweight, covered in ringworm and was 90% hairless. After months of treatment and TLC, her fur began to grow back and she gained weight.  Staff still struggle with the effects of her inbred genetics, and continuing to keep her healthy is no small task.  Despite all this and the fact that she is visually impaired, Zuri is a very sweet, sensitive tiger who loves to play with her toys and interact with keepers through the fence.

Because of her special needs she is housed singly and although she has been introduced to other tigers, she prefers to live alone and soak up all of the attention staff, visitors and volunteers have to offer her.
